Pretty much ready!

I got the last few things I needed all set up in my new 'Japanese Study Cubby!' I'm writing from here now! Very cool! I know this is going to be really hard but I really want to do this and I've been putting it off for too long. This endeavor can really only bring me closer to my 夢(yume:dream), so I feel like I need to get serious. I'm not getting any younger over here. Who knows? Since I know I'm probably DECADES away from actually being able to move, I hope in the short(er) term, that I could use Japanese to supplement my income. This won't happen overnight of course but neither will 日本 according to the very vague plan that I have. LOL. You've got to start somewhere however so here I am. I am ready to get serious and see what kind of damage I can do.

P.S. I'm probably going to try to write most anything I can using Japanese Words that I know now. Hopefully this will progressively help me out.

P.P.S. I am probably insane for starting this now because my job is about to be changing and getting very complicated so I'm definitely headed for brainstrain 7000. Woo!

Oh yes, またね!!!! (Mata ne)

I'm back... and ready to really invest some time on my にほんご studies!

Yea so, I'm going to start using this blog for my Japanese learning (b)log. I already had it, it was already about me loving Japan and I haven't posted in forever so hai! I've got some preparation to do before I'll start posting regularly (since I've never really done that, ha!) but I've got a new
火事 (fire) under my ass to step my game up and really make a more serious effort to learn this language. Big ups to Koichi with tofugu/textfugu and Michael Hudson for being a great cheerleader. (*^_^*)

Death of a hiphop legend

I'm still heartbroken about yesterday's news of GURU's (Keith Elam, Gang Starr, Jazzmatazz) passing. He was my favorite emcee of all time. I find so much solace in his rhymes and style. His words can mellow me and bring peace to my spirit. His presence was unrivaled in the game. The hiphop world truly lost one of the most revered and greatest emcees to ever grace a mic. All you ringtone rappers out there need to take some notes. No one can ever touch GURU's lyrical ability and smooth monotone style. Hiphop will never be the same. I'm upset his death is surrounded by so much controversy so I hope everyone out there can respect what a great lyricist and contributor to hiphop this man was and say fuck the other bullshit. Everything will sort itself out in time.

"Just as you'll receive what is coming to you
Everybody else is gonna get theirs too
I ain't no saint, therefore I cannot dispute
That everyone must meet their moment of truth"

Rest in Peace, GURU. Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal

Japanenglish

So I've learned basic words (yes/no, good/bad, hello/goodbye, today/tomorrow), colors, numbers, months and days of the week so far. Well went back to redo these parts so I could commit them to memory. Happy I've retained them all so far. So for grins... Kyou wa getsuyoubi desu. My birth month is kyuugatsu, day is roku. Not sure how to put those together yet. My jacket kyou is pinku. I have haiiro eyes. My inu is also haiiro. My kuruma is kuroi. Ashita wa kayoubi desu. Hai!! LOL!

My RSX-S, Civic Si situation

So yea two weeks ago today my beloved hot Japanese number got smashed! It was a very sad day for me losing my bad bitch Bianca. May you rest in peace B!! I finally realized why this car in particular was so damn meaningful to me or why I was so attached and that's because she helped me get through the hardest shit I've endured in my life. B... for that I am eternally grateful. We had a couple of really good years that I will always treasure.

On a more resilient note, the successor has been identified and will be in my hands tomorrow night. 2006 Civic Si. I think I'm gonna name her Bryn. She's kuroi too. It's my thing I suppose LOL. <3!!! I'll be driving her home from Colorado Springs on Tuesday and I'm really excited.

Here's to the next chapter.

Master's in Japan??

I stumbled across some information the other day on Facebook about Temple University's campus in Japan. I'm just 11 weeks from being done with the Bachelor's and I've always kind of considered it the minimum level of education I would have. I'm kind of digging this idea of getting my Master's while residing in Japan. LOL I just need a way to take my inu (dog) with me. I could either do an MBA or a Master's in teaching and take up teaching English in Japan which is apparently pretty lucrative and the easiest way for an American to find employment. Food for thought... Mata-ne! Japan or Bust!!
